Two more forwards sign up for Coventry Rugby.

Coventry Rugby are pleased to confirm  two  interesting signings with forwards Argentinian prop  Guido Cambareri and lock Nick Murphy both signed for Coventry Rugby for the forthcoming season, bringing the number of new players signed up to nine making a total squad of 33.

Guido  Cambareri aged 28, playing normally at No 3, comes to Coventry after playing for the Alumni Club in Buenos  Aires, Argentina. A constant performer for the Alumni club over the past 4 seasons, with the club playing in Urba Group 1 and last season in the Urba top 14 league of the Nacionel de Clubes. Standing at 1.845m and weighing 105kg Guido is a mobile and effective scrummager. Holding an Italian passport Guido very much welcomes the opportunity to assist Coventry Rugby in their ambitions.

Nick Murphy, another 28 year old, is a lock forward previously at Dudley Kingswinford, under one of their coaches former Coventry favourite Shaun Perry. Virtually an ever present over the last two seasons for Kings with 53 appearances Nick is also a member of the North Midlands county squad, and this season has appeared with new team-mate Callum MacBurnie in the County team. A constant performer Nick welcomes the opportunity to play at a higher level of rugby which his previous efforts have deserved.

Now that Coventry Rugby’s pre-season training has commenced there will be a more detailed report and photos on this shortly. In addition to the current squad of 33 players there are a number of players either training/on trial with Coventry Rugby, plus talks are continuing with a number of Premiership clubs as to the availability of dual registered loan players. There will be further press releases when details are confirmed

Welcome to both, really is starting to be a very interesting group of players, bring on the pre-season games so we can have a look at each of them. Drooling.(Sm139)

Welcome to both, indeed. Am I being a bit sceptical in thinking that they both may be "make weights" who stand little chance of first team selection? Perhaps substitutes at best? I'd be very happy to be proved wrong.

CB - with 3 props having left including our most regular appearing tight head I'd expect the prop to play 25+ matches.

Harder to tell with the lock - a lot will depend on Scott Morgan's availability.

Argentinian props tend to be pretty useful and fine scrummagers - let's hope so.

Squad looking pretty good. We need a back up No. 8 to Le Roux, another winger/fullback and perhaps a centre depending on the JO situation.

These could be covered by dual registered/loanees but personally I am not that great a fan of DR/loans as they have a habit of being called back just when you need them the most.
