Got to be close to the side which will face RP, so could answer a few questions.

Need another monicker for one of the JOs now then. By certain accounts the new one will make his presence felt, so it could be confusing...

Is andy brown also a long-term injury ? (Kimbo mentioned a longterm prop injury on rollingmaul)
I hope there's nowt wrong with Wright and Leroux and they're just being 'rested' for tomorrow's match.
I like the look of the 3 new arrivals. Jordan Onojaife in particular.

Anyone have any thoughts on today's game?
I thought lepierre looked an interesting player, and the new loan prop was a very solid, but also mobile player..

The team played very well in a competitive match today. Old hands played well and the new lads shone as well.

I don't definitely know the new guys names yet but the chaps you picked out impressed me as well.

Was Lepierre that zig zagging winger who the opposition were impressed enough with to try and physically take out more than once during the game?

A bit of sloppy tackling especially on the back foot by the team was the only negative I can think of.

Will H. showed his heels quite a few times with the resulting points, James O. impressed me and Cliffie's boot at the end of the game showed he hasn't lost anything during his summer hols.

In my opinion...

Wayne Evans did well. Can tell he has higher league experience.
Dan Rundle, didn't really see much of him but he didn't generally look very happy once replaced and spent little time with the rest of the squad... Odd
Lespierre, I thought was very promising in both attack and defence, including under high ball and chasing kicks. Very impressed. Not sure about the props, the scrum looked iffy.

Overall a decent performance. I think if we had the luxury of stats, Cov had the majority of posession. Good in attack and generally strong in defence.

One more thing: where is Dom Lespierre from?

I would agree with what you've said Paul.

Well that's the odd thing about lapierre, when he came on I googled him, and found this article.

Which says he signed for Huddersfield at the end of July!!
Another article I found says he played at hull last season in some capacity or another.

By the way he is Guyanan and plays 7's for them.
Apparently they are the best 7's team in the Caribbean!

Hmmm... 27?!?! Didn't think he was that "old". Additionally, he has very good defensive technique which is often lacking with sevens players, which is a fear of mine with Dan Rundle after watching him track the ball across the pitch at one point, at 100mph instead of staying in an organised defensive system. However. I don't have this fear with Dom, he seemed to stay in position, albeit with some direction from Cliffie on a couple of occasions.

According to the top of this thread, he is a triallist. Looks a keeper on this performance although not sure if he's injury prone or a bit of a wimp, the number of times the physio attended to him!

Good performance on Saturday,as for lespierre being a wimp I don't think so,from what I saw on Thursday and Saturday he is a rare winger who puts his body on the line.

Good, you cannot deny that he needed a lot of attention... However, I don't disagree... He did a good job and I hope he is signed.

Kimbo he must has some Guyana decendency somewhere as he plays/played for the national 7's team. :-)

Thought Matt Jonnes played very well keeping us on the front foot most of the game also his half back partner looks to be a class player,JO.also had a very forcful game apart from one missed tackle, considering there fly half has played for Quins first team and his inside centre is in the full tigers squad {on loan for just that game ) the lads did very well.Looks like we have our own " Beeest " to chant about in the front row what a powerhouse

Would not class him as a wimp either, he took a couple of big hits! I do think though that he is not quite match fit, he seemed to be breathing really heavy after every bit of action and taking on fluids.
Has the potential to be a good player for us.
