Good to see the backs the same. Shame the forwards, particularly the back row has the feeling of being quite makeshift due to injury. And disappointed Brett is injured.
Good luck all the same, il be down there shouting you on,

We're playing without a scrum half?

My M.O.M. last week. Always made the right decisions and set Matt Jones free to perform. Forwards set the platform of course in the first half. I hope Chad and Andy are not being rushed back, but a great looking front row. Good luck Cov.

So at 43-5 at half time, Wayne Evans had been run off the park by his opposite number. You don't rate Evans then bigm?

Think Wayne does the basics well, but he doesn't ask many questions of the oppositions scrum half or fly half... Eg when have we seen him take a quick pen, or make a break himself?
I just like my scrum halves in the barker / perry mould, ones that you don't know what they are going to do, in a good way.

James Doherty tried his luck at Leeds Carnegie last season(now Yorkshire). don't know why he didn't stop but excellent player.

I'd suggest there are two reasons Matt Jones is looking so good at the moment.
1: he's had the riot act read to him / been gently persuaded, that we need to retain possession, and U.S. therefore kicking it away a lot less.
2: he has a scrum half inside him who is doing a lot more managing the pack and the breakdown, and so is getting a lot more decent ball.

Evans isn't a flashy showboating type of player, but playing behind a pack which due to injuries is always changing and has so far lacked the power of last season he is, in my opinion, doing a very good job for the team.

First choice front row (imo) for the first time this season. I'm looking forward to this one, but hope its not as nail-biting as it was last season!

I see Scott Hamilton was involved in coaching last week. Hope that continues as something certainly clicked for the side, in the first half at least.

Weather not great for champagne rugby. Will be wet (and as aways) cold at Cindy with some sunny intervals. Put your woolly hats on chaps.

Will be a warm welcome.............. off the pitch! Looking forward to it.

Cinderford enjoy this fixture due to the extra gate money and Cov's tradition. Some of the older supporters remember the "abrasive", their words not mine, clashes at Kingsholm all those years ago.

It means a lot for them to turn us over and they will be scraping for points to day, so we will need to be on our game.
