Wasps Rugby Club rolled into town on Wednesday after Coventry City Council voted unanimously to buy ACL, the stadium operating company at the Ricoh.
The move was met with a furious reaction from the Wasps support online with over 3,000 people signing a petition but the former Henry VII pupil insists that it was Coventry or bust for the Adams' Park-based club.
He told talkSPORT: "The move was a necessity,”
“The club was an hour away from going bust a couple of years ago, so I think you need to look at the bigger picture.
None of the above. The basic fact is their money man doesn't have bottomless pockets, couldn't wait for permission for stadium build and let's face it, the Ricoh is cheap and ready to go. Established venue and turnover in place.
No brainer, the only person who couldn't see this was septic Joy Seppela
