Coventry go into this Saturday’s home game against National League One leaders Ealing Trailfinders on their best winning run since the 2000-01 season after a 57-21 victory at Tynedale.

Loose head Andy Brown scored three of Cov’s nine tries – a club record for a prop forward in league games – as Cov’s eighth straight win lifted them into third place in the table.

It was only Cov’s second win in five visits to Tynedale, and ideal prepration for Ealing’s visit according to head coach Scott Morgan.

“I’m really happy, we’ve been building towards a big performance, and it’s nice to get a 70 to 80-minute performance in and to go 57 points with no real flamboyancy,” said Morgan. “There are always things to work on, we let them in for two soft tries in the first half, but I’m really pleased with the overall performance.
