Jake Farmworth is a young Leicester Academy hooker who has been impressing people in the LV=Cup, and has trained with Cov for the past few weeks.

No room on bench for JLR?

Let's get Jacques fully match fit first. It also shows how well the back row have performed if the likes of JLR and Brett are not selected in any capacity.

As and when JLR and BD are fuly fit it will make the back row selection a "pleasant headache" if there is such a thing!

If we are pushed up on our line for long periods like at there place and we have to resort to kicking out of defence we put dan rundle on to chase should have done that at blaydon

Clearly our memories of the game at Blaydon are very different egg shape.

For me, the problems in the second half had nothing to do with what to do when we had the ball, but instead about gaining the ball in the first place.

Blaydon stepped up their scrummaging from half time, and the referee, aided by a lot of Blaydon pressure on the touch judge started penalising Cov heavily on the scrummages. As happened in the two other matches involving that official I have seen this season, scrummages started needing repeated resets, and usually ended with free kicks or penalties, in this case consistently against Cov.

The result of this was that there was very little open play in this half, with the game plodding from reset to reset, whistle to whistle. From this we had virtually no possession, and Blaydon had the opportunity to kick deep to touch, and score from the resulting line out and mauls. It was a match lost not by kicking away possession, but by the pack losing control of the scrums.

The conditions on Saturday are likely to be heavy underfoot, whatever miracles Eric works, wet to the hands, and windy in the air. This is not going to be a game for long passes, kick chases, or fast running. Any of our wingers is capable of doing what is needed, but what is not needed is a kick and chase game.

I was at blaydon and in the second half we were under a lot of pressure like you said rolling mauls off line outs and such and blaydon gained from that and if we ever needed to kick and chase it was in that game.but at old albanians we kicked away for no reason i did not say we kicked and chased at blaydon but when the whole team are up on our line with no cover we should have done it to gain some ground .our pack our stronger now so should be a different game

Really well Thorn. Good player with a really good attitude to playing as a DR. We'e suffered badl from injuries in the back row and whenever he's been available he's been the go-to #8
