Success breeds success, and crowds at the Butts Park Arena continue to rise on back of the Coventry’s 14-game winning run.
Saturday’s attendance of 1,938 was Cov’s best in five seasons of National League One rugby, more than 1,000 better than anywhere else in the division, and higher than the gates at three of the six Championship games played on the same day.
“The crowd was incredible,” said head coach Scott Morgan. “Close to 2,000 spectators in National One – what can you say?
“I hope they know that it makes a massive difference to the players out there to see and hear so many supporters, and I hope that everyone is enjoying the experience. It was another 200 up on our previous best for the season, so let’s keep going – tell your mates and tell your family!
“We’re winning, and it is good for the city to have something to shout about, but not just that – there is a real honesty in the club now and real trust in what we are doing. We’re comfortable in what we are trying to achieve and really just want to create an environment for people to come and enjoy themselves.”
