Coventry Rugby Club head coach Scott Morgan praised his squad’s sheer will to keep on winning after Cov came through a real test of character at Wharfedale and closed the gap on National League One leaders Ealing Trailfinders.
“We have got a very courageous group and a lot of proud guys – we were 14 on the bounce and the boys weren't going to give that up easily,” said Morgan, who was kept out of the game by a calf injury.
“It means a lot to them to win in the shirt, and they totally put their bodies on the line for 15 minutes in the first half when the game could have been lost – it’s really pleasing to see, and they’re giving everything from first minute to last.
“I played in this one up here last season and it was a similar game, they keep coming and coming, living off our scraps and pressuring us, and I don’t think we were properly equipped then to win a game like this.
“Last year we were scratching around to win away from home, it was really a battle to get even one win.
