I think it is a little harsh Scott giving the players some criticism when there are so many needless changes to the team selection. I am sure we would have performed better and maybe sneaked a few more wins with a settled side.

Any changes from a settled side certainly makes it more difficult to work that rhythm that we had earlier in the season, however the core has been consistent and hopefully like Scott has said this should be enough to galvanise the match day squad. I certainly hope so as we have been excellent in many games this season and it is frustrating for all not to be hitting those heights. Come on Cov we can do this.

the question is.. what is everyone, that's team and coaches are going to do differently to get a different (winning) result, or at least performance.!?

I can't help wondering what Scott and the coaching team have done and said in respect of taking any responsibility for the very poor recent performances.
You wouldn't expect him to come out and say anything publicly, but he can't put the responsibility entirely on the shoulders of the players.
Unfortunately I'm going to have to miss the Tynedale game because we're away, but I so much hope we can get back to winning ways. It will be fascinating to see how many changes are made this week.

Hamilton has been mentioned as available hope it's at a full-back because it would be unfair on will and dan who are still a massive threat when the team are on there game.

Wise words Nick. The old saying comes into play "form is temporary, class is permanent".

Us fans have had a very good season we have seen some great home and away games. Keep the faith folks. I for one as Nick will tell you was looking for changes after the Blaydon (away) game. How wrong I was.

We have all had a bit of a moan of late but mick carter is Wright it has not ended as we wanted but it's been a good ride considering the start we had and let's just hope we can finish on a high come on cov.

Sadly I'll miss the game this weekend as I'm at Twickenham - bad planning - but I really hope we can finish strongly to put a gloss on what has been a very enjoyable season. The good has heavily outweighed the bad - certainly at home - and I think the increased support is an indication of this. I'm not convinced that promotion is in imminent, i.e. the next season or two, but as long as we're competitive in this league then I will continue to enjoy watching us play.

My point of view is that we need to address the pack.

Front row is key and when we have a solid platform we perform well. Mid season we had the luxury of two really strong front rows but look vunerable on the bench so that needs to be addressed as LV cup has caused many changes in selection with little the managment can do about it. This can also be said of the second row as when we don't have the DR/Loan players we didn't really have cover. Back row unfortunate as so many injuries but need a back up 8 for definate as JLR still seems injured or underperforming from what we know he can do (Ed Milne's work rate fantastic).

Backs look to have brought in some coaches for next season but will be interesting to see who stays and who goes. Aimless kicking has been the bane of many a game.

said it for a long time...we need a captain on the pitch..not someone given the arm band, but earns it and thinks it. Plus I believe the coaching staff did not shelter the team from the pressure of a month ago...keep playing the rugby..the win will come and then the bonus points not bonus points in the first 10...totally wrong approach..putting needless pressure on people

Watched Wasps v Sarasons on tv, almost 80 kicks from hand in the first half mainly by Sarries as they do not play any rugby in ther own half .If that kind of rugby ever filters down to our league I wiil be doing a lot more fishing.I really think our problem when the ball is kicked from hand is our follow up, the lads do not seem to be on the same wave length and allow the opposition runners to much time and space to run back at us.Every kick is only as good as the chase.

Odd that Mark. You heard Scott calling from the touchline repeatedly for the team to exercise patience, to not flap in their efforts to get points, and to do exactly what you are calling for, when you were sitting directly behind me. Despite this you critiise him for not doing it?

Yes, the team did get it wrong, spurned kickable points, and wasted chances through not being patient, but you can hardly both criricise the coaching staff for doing nothing when you were commenting at the time criticising the head coach for doing exactly that.

While we continue to take in a excess of DR and loan players we will never have a strong consistent squad,I don't say not to have any loan or DR players just enough as to not weaken the team so much when they get recalled back to their home club.

hi Nick... my brother says about 'having a captain on the pitch', this is completely different to having a coach shouting from the sidelines, which your right is what Scott did.

Needless to say that scott, maynard, and dave are all quite vocal during games. But that is not related to having a captain who motivates and can spot errors on the pitch by his team mates.

I think its fair to say, that on the face of it we haven't had a vocal 'lead from the front' captain for many years.

Scott has played a lot of games this year, and although not captain,he was the leader. He had a big influence on his team mates and could often be seen to be chatting to sir during the game. He was there during our unbeaten run,yet since he was injured and then suspended has it not coincided with the teams drop in form?

I'd say that, when available Scott has led from the front marvelously, but now with his playing career nearing an end is it not time to find a top notch player to lead the side on the field? A top of the list priority I reckon.

agree that we need a vocal leader on the pitch, referably a number 8 or 2nd row plus more mobility/speed in the pack. too often our players are v slow to get in a good defensive shape-too many sheltering in or near the ruck
also need players who can take and give a pass, too many passes are spilt or stop th emove cos they are poorly directed.
that said its been mostly an enjoyable season, lets hope it doesnt completely fizzle out.
