Experienced duo to stay at Coventry Rugby.

Coventry Rugby are delighted to announce that two of their key players, Wayne Evans and Cliffie Hodgson have pledged their support for Coventry Rugby  for another season, as Coventry aim to build on their latest NL1 record breaking season with ambitious plans already taking shape for their assault on the title.

Wayne Evans, scrum-half aged 30, joined Coventry Rugby at the start of this season, after 7 years with Welsh Regional side Newport Gwent Dragons, and has been an ever present with 27 starts and 2 as replacement scoring 2 tries. Wayne’s calming influence and experience helped Coventry Rugby in their record breaking run of 18 unbeaten games. Wayne is enjoying his rugby here at Coventry with its high tempo and exciting style of play, and looks forward to the club challenging for title honours next season. 

Cliffie Hodgson, aged 25, has signed on for another season at Coventry Rugby making it his 4^th in a row. Starting off at fly-half but now mainly operating from full-back but also had spells at centre, Cliffie, after his record breaking goal-kicking exploits last season still managed to score 252 points this season including 8 tries from his 22 starts and 1 replacement one, in a period which has recently been curtailed by injury. Law Student Cliffie may have to travel back to South Africa for his exams depending on whether an operation is required on his shoulder, and is looking forward to next season when he feels Coventry Rugby should reap the benefit of having a squad that has largely been kept together.
