Coventry continued their pre-season campaign with a workmanlike 47-19 victory over Chinnor at the Butts Park Arena on Saturday, scoring seven tries.
Matt Jones converted tries from second row Courtney Roberts and prop Chad Thorne in the first of the four 20-minute sessions, and Adam Canning took over the kicking role to top up scores from winger Peter Weightman, centre James Tincknell and full-back Scott Hamilton - going through from inside his own half after a quickly-taken penalty - as the gap stretched out to 35-5 at half-time, Coventry old boy Matt Tibbatts pulling one back for the visitors.
Cov rang the changes for the third quarter, increasing their lead through tries from wingers Ryan Hough and Weightman and a Caolan Ryan conversion, before a ragged final 20 saw Chinnor respond with two tries.
"Last week at Broadstreet was a bit disappointing, but it was better this week and hopefully we'll keep raising our level now until we come to the first league game of the season," said Cov captain Wayne Evans.
