Skipper Wayne Evans says it's an 'honour' to captain Cov.

Scrum-half Wayne Evans is relishing the captaincy role as Coventry prepare for a National League One promotion push.
The 31-year-old Welshman, who is starting his second season at the Butts Park Arena, was named as skipper last week with Cliffie Hodgson club captain.
“It’s an honour to be captain and I’m looking forward to it,” said Evans, who was an ever-present last term
“I did it a few times when I was at the Dragons and four or five times here last season, it’s something I do enjoy doing and it doesn’t really change the way I play too much.
“I try to organise and speak on the field anyway, it’s what scrum-halves do, so from that point of view it kind of comes natural to me.
“It’s nice to be named, and I’m looking forward to the challenge of it – there’s plenty of pressure this season, we are trying to get promoted, but there are plenty of experienced boys here so it is not going to be too difficult.”
Evans is confident that Cov are in a better position than 12 months ago and ready to take the next step forward after their summer recruiting.
