Romania international to join Coventry RFC after World Cup..

Romania No.8 Daniel Carpo will link up with Coventry after the end of his country’s World Cup campaign.
The 30-year-old, who has won 57 caps for Romania since his debut in June 2007, spent eight seasons at Steau Bucharest before a 2013 move to his last club, RCM Timisoara, who have a link with Premiership side Saracens.
Carpo will provide added cover for Cov in the back row with Jacques Le Roux, who missed Cov’s pre-season games because of an Achilles problem, suffering a hamstring injury on his playing return for Broadstreet at Sedgley Park last Saturday.
“Daniel is a big physical specimen and a strong ball carrier with plenty of experience,” said Cov’s rugby director Phil Maynard. “He will be with us as soon as his World Cup commitments are over and will give us some extra strength and options.”
Prop Chad Thorne has returned to full training following a neck problem, while second row Ben Thomas is expected to be available again in the next two weeks after an ankle injury and winger Dan Rundle, who broke his leg in a freak accident in mid-July, remains on course to return around Christmas.
