Coventry RFC 26 Plymouth Albion 19:

A try at the end of normal time from recalled No.8 Jacques Le Roux saw Coventry end a run of two defeats to get their National League One campaign back on track.

Trailing 16-7 at half-time, Plymouth scored 12 points while Cov were down to 14 men to get back to level terms going into the final quarter.

But Cov lifted the tempo and after Matt Jones had seen a penalty bounce back into play from the left upright, Le Roux - making his first appearance of the season - found gap in the Albion defence to cross between the posts, Jones converting.

Cov dominated the opening exchanges and went in front inside three minutes, Peter Weightman marking his league bow with a try in the left corner and Jones converting well from a wide angle.

Tom Putt missed a penalty chance to put Albion on the board, and Cov eased further in front with a brace of Jones penalties from head-on around 35 metres out.

Albion enjoyed a prolonged spell of pressure inside the home 22, and with Cov down to 14 men following a yellow card for Tom Poole, Mike Stupple picked up at the base of a scrum to go over for a try which Putt converted.
