In other threads people are grumbling, puzzled at why Cov have signed another loose head prop.

Looking at appearance stats for the season so far, Andy Brown has started every match.

Let's look at who would cover if he was injured...

Adam and Chad ate primarily tight heads.

Ricki started for the first five games at Broadstreet and is now not in their 20. I would guess that means he is injured.

Joe Foreman is young and playing regularly at Broadstreet. Based on pre-season he will need to develop further this season.

That leaves Terry, who has been replacement or travelling reserve every match so far. I don't know, but I think that this shows that he is seen as an impact replacement, not as a player to cover an hour of a match.

I would see Loma being brought in to provide cover should Andy Brown be out for any reason. If Ricki was the cover and is currently out someone is needed. On that basis alone I'm glad to see him. - not having cover is far too big a risk.

I guess my feeling is that it seems an odd signing in terms of the overall team and priorities on the pitch. On the face of it We already seem to have 4 fit props, and with one one loan. So to sign another appears to be prioritsing in the wrong place, comparitively. We only have 2 hookers for example and 1 spare winger. Either way now there will be 2 dissapointed props not in the match day squad while they are all fit.

Im glad we have another new signing, but perhaps resources could be put elsewhere in the team instead?

Props and hookers are a bit critical. Turn up without enough and you get points deductions.
Any other positions can use stand ins.

And s if by magic, on another thread.. We have 2 more hookers.

News which I was in unaware of when posting about loose heads

We have two looseheads in Brown and Foreman
5 tight heads in Thorne Parkins Caulfied Sigley and Stout.

Always thought we look underpowered at loosehead so pleased to see another signing as I was worried we were vulnerable in that position. I presumed the coaches would cover that by a loan/dr signing from a premiership club like Obano last year.

If this is the person I think I have just seen walking with Courtney and Dev, he is huge. Hopefully a good signing...
