The Update (22/11/21)

WITH nothing much happening at the BPA over the last couple of weeks or so.

And nothing much happening at the BPA over the next ten days or so (thanks for your care and considerate oversight of our game and struggling clubs, RFU) unless you include a schoolboy game, this will have to act as an update to keep the site/forum running.

Here, then, is a selection of pictures from the Ealing and Penzance defeats, as unedifying as they were, together with a few shots from the home tie with Nottingham, which it seems produced a few signs of green shoots – particularly apt when you consider that 30 of the thirty five home points came from the boot and hands of two of our current crop of Academy lads.

Take a well-deserved bow Louis James and Evan Mitchell.

This weekend's results had a slight effect on Cov's standing in the league table. Having clawed a bit of ground back with the Nottingham win, proceedings elsewhere on Saturday pushed the side back down somewhat.

Cov will hope to address that on Saturday on their travels to Richmond Athletic Ground as they visit winless basement side London Scottish. Take nothing for granted though – Scottish can be dangerous, and Cov's away form is nowt to shout about. Fingers crossed for a consecutive win, having said that.

Results from Saturday:

Cornish Pirates 39-24 Bedford

Richmond 36-38 Ampthill

Hartpury 15-20 Doncaster

Ealing 35-29 Jersey

Standings:

Top

Ealing 31 points from 7 played

Pirates 28 from 7

Jersey 25 from 7

Doncaster 22 from 7

Bottom

Hartpury 16 from 8

Coventry 15 from 7

Nottingham 15 from 7

L. Scottish 2 from 8

Thanks for the item Steve, it’s an excellent job that you are doing trying to keep this going. I wish you well.
Saw Louis Brown recently and, whisper it quietly, he is hoping to be available for selection this week, although, personally, I would prefer him to be ready for the visit of free-scoring Bedford the following week. Whilst other players had the week off, Louis was hoping to have a week’s training on his own at the club. Think missing Louis and Sentiki Nayalo has been a big miss this season.
Here’s hoping.

It would be great to see Louis back sharpish. We've certainly missed his cut and thrust from 15.
Tiki's absence isn't helping either.

Louis is back. Lets not expect too much too soon after his lengthy lay off. Certainly being without two keys players like Brown and Nayolo has certainly made a difference to the team.

And Burrows. And Jeannot. Etc.
