Walking in the woods and a big surprise

In the only Championship game of this Easter weekend, a rearranged fixture, Ealing Trailfinders travelled to Ampthill on Saturday and, like others, slipped up at the Field of False Hopes.
Ampthill pulled off, possibly the shock of the season, as they earned a 29-21 win over the league leaders, despite trailing 21-7 at one stage. The game probably turned with Ealing losing their two hookers by halftime, injured starter Mike Willemse being replaced by Henry Walker, who, unfortunately also had to be replaced. This left replacement flanker Richard Hardwick throwing in at line-outs and uncontested scrums. The Mob also landed two interception tries in their four try tally, a BP win for the hosts and a pointless Bedfordshire trip for the visitors.
The defeat leaves Ealing still with a ten point lead over Cov in the table but next Friday, 5th April, there are four Championship fixtures scheduled, including a visit for Trailfinders to face Cornish Pirates at The Mennaye (7.30pm). The other games scheduled also look attractive, London Scottish entertain Hartpury at The RAG (7.45pm) with Nottingham welcoming Bedford Blues to The Bay (also 7.45pm) .
Of course, that brings us to Cov's game at The BPA as Cambridge come in their first visit as a Championship side. Please be aware the kickoff time for Cov's game is 8.00pm.
So, all in all, I think we are in for a very interesting Friday of Championship rugby.
