Raith Rovers take Walsall striker on-loan

Hawley made his only senior appearance for the Saddlers towards the back end of last season, replacing the now-departed Marcelo, in a league match against Gillingham.

Raith were impressed by his prolific scoring record in the Walsall reserve team, and the Saddlers were more than happy to let Karl see some first-team action.

He said: "Towards the end of last season I was starting to get involved in the first team. Last season I scored 15 for the reserves. The year before that I scored about 19.

"I just want to get some first team experience and help the team along, and go back (to Walsall) and get into the first team," he added.

Hawley trained with the second-division outfit last week and watched their game against Berwick on Saturday. The 6-month deal was concluded this afternoon.
