The Gilbert Alsop Stand has been renamed the Purple Stand, while Fitzroy Simpson has agreed to stay at Bescot, despite interest from what news sources call an unnamed club, but we told you last week that Bradford had made moves to sign him up.

Purple Loans push Gilbert in to a corner.

Things have been moving quickly at Bescot today. The Club have officially announced Purple Loans (Who do have local links, as our rumours section reported) as the sponsors of the new stand. The Club also announced that a room in the stand will named after Gilbert Alsop, who's name will forever be associated with the home of Walsall fans.

Fitzroy rejects the Bantams to Stay at Bescot.

TheSaddlersFC exclusively reported that Bradford City had approached Fitzroy Simpson. However the news today says that Lee and Simpson have come to an agreement with Simpson agreeing to stay on a non contract basis. Lee said that if the financial situation improves Simpson will be offered a permanent deal. Radio WM said that another club had been interested in signing Fitz, but he wanted to stay at the Bescot.
