Wrack was awarded the man of the match award after taking his goals
well and continuing his good run of form. |

Colin Lee shuffled his pack and included Simpson and
Ainsworth in place of Sonner and Junior. Ward continued in goal with Jim
Walker being suspended, and it was still 4-4-2. |
| TTheir is no doubting that Town had the best of the first half, even though the first chance fell to Zigor Aranalde who's volley wasn't good enough to trouble the Town keeper. Clapham also went close for the Tractor boys, but one of their best chances came via an innocuous free kick awarded after an Aranalde "back pass".
Aranalde had caught the ball awkwardly and it went on to Ward who picked it up. This gave Town an indirect free kick inside the Walsall area which Bazeley thankfully saved on the line.
It looked like the Saddlers would hold on till half time until Ward mishandled a Naylor cross, allowing Counago in to score.

Those who have followed the Saddlers away this season will know they rarely give up the ghost. But you couldn't help but feel that without the Junior and Jorge partnership we were a little blunt up front, and that feeling of the unexpected which we have come to enjoy was absent.
Jorge will always plough his furrow up front, and chase his lost causes, but when linked with Junior an extra dimension comes to his game. But Junior was on the bench, and the opening moments of the second half were not much to watch. Magilton saw his curling shot go over the bar and Town had a few corners that the Saddlers dealt with, and you had to feel that one goal and the Saddlers were back in it.
Any hopes Saddlers fans had of Walsall getting back in to the game must have disappeared when Gaardsoe finally got on the end of a Town Corner on 60 minutes.
Ipswich were on top of the game, and when Darren Wrack converted a Jorge Leitao ball
8 minutes later it came as a surprise to both sides. Thoughts of what happened
at Derby earlier on in the season are still fresh in fans minds, when we
witnessed the comeback of all comebacks. Ipswich were not about to roll
over and let the Saddlers back in to the game and Counago took his chance
on the edge of the box well to beat Ward from 18 yards out. At 3-1 with 5
minutes left many would have given up the ghost but Wrack grabbed another
goal with just 1 minute left after converting a Bazeley cross.
The Saddlers didn't get their equaliser, and didn't get
their points. The last three games have ended in defeat and the gap below isn't
getting any smaller.

points gifted away today, apparently Ward made a total balls-up of a
soft cross in injury time first half, just as I was thinking
"will we give away the usual goal in the last seconds of the
half ?", consistent as always we go and do exactly that ! Then
from a corner the defence goes totally a.w.o.l. (again) as their guy
gets a free header for the second. What the hell is happening, we've
scored two goals away from home again, and again we've lost ! |

really think we have got to start improving our results away from
Bescot because the quality of teams still to visit Bescot is a lot
higher that in the first half of the season and the state of the
pitch certainly doesn't help our style of play it is more than
likely going to suit the visiting teams better |
