With his loan move to Tranmere collapsing, Walsall and Hull City are the two sides rumored to be trying to sign the Rotherham United veteran on loan. His last spell at Walsall was unsuccessful, and he is very unpopular with the fans.

have suggested that Walsall and third division Hull City are vying for
the signature of Rotherham United veteran cast off Mark Robins. This could
have some truth in it because he had a loan deal at Tranmere fall through
this week.
Robins featured for the Saddlers in the 99/00 season when we were narrowly relegated at the expense of West Bromwhich Albion. Robins is generally unpopular amongst Walsall fans who will remember his lackluster performances when we were relegated, and the apparent lack of effort he put in to his game. After leaving the Saddlers he went to Rotherham, who won promotion in the same Season as us. Graydon had said that Robins was not going to fit in to our "style of play" in the Second Division and we let him walk away for nothing. What has made relations worse is the fact that at Rotherham he has played 93 league games netting 41 goals, while with the Saddlers he featured in 40 games only scoring 6 goals. It seemed that Robins had secured a loan deal with Tranmere, but Ronnie has been quoted as saying that the agent scupperd the deal by trying to set him up with Barnsley who still have a transfer embargo slapped on them. Whether this story holds any weight we don't know, but why Lee would want to take on a striker only second and third division clubs are after in is baffling. Keep an eye out on our rumour section for any further developments in the transfer market....we are always watching and listening.
