Every now and again we take a peek at how former Walsall players and staff are doing, and today we delve in to the basement to see which of our former players are still plying their trade.

Roberto Martinez continues to play an active role in Swansea City's recent revival,  he featured for Swansea in their 0-0 draw with fellow Welsh side Wrexham.

The Rochdale duo of Wayne Evans and Clive Platt, made a trip to the Midlands to play Shrewsbury on Saturday, unfortunalty Rochdale were sunk by a Jagielka brace and a Lowe goal as the Shrews won 3-1.

Rushden ran out 2-1 winners against fellow promotional rivals York City at home. Paul Hall did play but didn't manage to continue his scintillating goals scoring form for the Diamonds.

Tom Bennett, now plying his trade at 3rd Division new boys Boston United won the man of the match award despite his side losing 2-1 at play-off hopefuls Oxford United.

Kyle Lighbourne's goal 10 minutes from time sealed a 2-1 for Macclesfield Town, as they overcame mid table Southend United at home.

Alan Buckley, once our record signing back in the 1980's is now managing 3rd division Lincoln City, and his sides 1-1 draw at home to Leyton Orient yesterday will not of done their push for a play off place any good.

On Loan Walsall forward Andy Bishop failed to impress during Kidderminster's 3-1 defeat at the Agbourgh Stadium. The promising youngster has been in goal scoring form, but yesterday just wasn't his day. Bishop is currently joined by former Walsall defender Dion Scott, who also played in yesterdays game.

Ray Graydons Bristol Rovers drew their crunch bottom of the table game against bottom of the League Exeter 0-0, piling further Pressure on the former Villa player.

Remember Colin Cramb? His goal 6 minutes from time sealed a 2-1 victory for Bury and put them level on points with Bournemouth (the side they beat) in Joint 3rd position.

Other players we know that are currently playing for Third division sides like Dean Keates (Hull) & Don Goodman (Exeter) did not deature yesterday, but if you know of anyone with Walsall links who PLAYED yesterday, let us know as soon as possible and we can add them to our database.

Next week we take a look at Nationwide League Division 2.
