Saddlers to swoop for Shuker?

Colin Lee could swoop for Manchester City's Chris Shuker after the youngster admitted his future at Maine Road looks bleak. The striker has impressed whilst on loan at Bescot this month.

His recent loan spell at Bescot has given Chris Shuker a taste of first team football – and now he can’t get enough! The diminutive Liverpudlian has admitted that he stands little chance of making a name for himself at Maine Road and intends to use his spell at Bescot as a chance to put himself in the shop window.

"I just don't feel that I will ever get the chance at City" said Shuker.

"So I am just glad that this chance came up for me at Walsall because I don't want to be stuck in the reserves all the time at City."

"The move will give me the chance of being noticed in the First Division and it is up to me to grab the opportunity."

"Things have been frustrating for me at City but I just want to get on with my football now."

Shuker appeared for the Mancunians against Blackburn, Liverpool and Leeds earlier in the season and has featured in the red of Walsall against Bradford, Rotherham and Millwall. A few more impressive performances could earn the 20 year old a more permanent deal in the summer, although Colin Lee is sure to face competition from other First Division clubs.
