News of suspensions means that the
Saddlers will put out an under strength side against high flying
Portsmouth at the Bescot in 8 days time.
No fewer than 4 first team players
are out through suspension, and that is without taking in to account any
possible injuries that may occur between now and then.
Jim Walker sits out 1 of his 2
games against Pompey, while Skipper O'Connor is also out after his
needless sending off at Selhurst Park.
The most damaging blow comes in
the form of Jamie Lawrence's suspension. Lawrence's sending off against
Sheffield Wednesday while playing for Bradford means he will also miss
the clash against the champions elect, along with Carl Robinson, who
also has a 3 game suspension to serve.
Although the Saddlers are still
waiting to hear about Robinson's appeal, they will have to make plans
without him until they know. This season has seen the day's of Graydon's
respect the ref attitude disappear, as discipline at the Bescot seems to
have gone down the pan.
Although Sir Rays approach to discipline
was not liked by everyone at the club, or by all the fans, it did help
