Former Walsall forward Kyle Lightbourne will be one of many professionals left without a club this summer as teams all over the country look to trim their wage bills.

Former Saddlers star Kyle Lightbourne has been released by Macclesfield Town. The Bermudan international is now 34 years old and has played in all 4 english divisions.

Kyle turned out for Coventry, Fulham, Stoke, Swindon, Cardiff, Macclesfield and Hull after leaving the Saddlers the same summer that Chris Nicholl walked out

The talk on unofficial forums suggests that Kyle was picking up a cool £1-1500k per week, and if this is true it is hardly surprising that he has been shown the door.

Kyle will always be remembered for lifting us out of the basement with his goals. His partnership with Kevin Wilson was one of the best that Saddlers fans have ever seen, and we wish Kyle all the best in the Summer.
