With Jim Walker's testimonial game being announced, Mick Kearns' Dream Team revealed and Kuqi rumours, who said the close season was boring?

Jimmy Walker's testimonial game will be against Birmingham City on Tuesday 5th August, according to Rivals and the Express & Star. There has been no confirmation as yet on either the official site, or the Testimonial site, but this does seem to be the sort of fixture they would be looking for.

Meanwhile, Mick Kearns has announced his all time Walsall Dream Team. It is as follows (4 4 2):-

James Walker
Colin Harrison
Ian Roper
Stan Bennett
Tony Macken
Jeff Peron
Martin O'Connor
David Preece
Miah Dennehy
Alan Buckley
David Kelly

"The positions that I had most difficulty in was right-back and right wing. It was an extremely close call between Tony Macken and Darren Bazeley, whilst Darren Wrack narrowly missed out to Miah Dennehy because of his greater pace and directness.
In goal I went for James Walker because not only has he got bags of ability but he is also a consistent performer".

Don't forget to vote in TheSaddlersFC Legends XI vote over the next few weeks to have your say.

Lastly, a Baggies fan at work picked this up off one of the Albion message boards: -

"Kuqi of Sheff Wed has said he is speaking with a First Div club during the first week of June!! I thought that was a funny time but I gather the side concerned will have definite "yes" or "no" answers from their present guys they are offering contracts to by end of May....could this be you ?"

It fits in with what CL has said about the contracts at the club and he did go to watch the Northern ireland v Finland International a few weeks ago. Could this be a goer?
