Former Saddlers duo Dion Scott and Matthew Gadsby have been axed by their clubs as teams everywhere look to trim their squads for next season.

Dion Scott and Matt Gadsby have been released by Kidderminster Harriers and Mansfield Town

Both players came through the ranks at Walsall but failed to make any impact on the first team under Ray Graydon or Colin Lee.

Gadsbys on-off move to Mansfield was finalised in early November when former Walsall defender Stuart Watkiss took him to there on a free transfer. Gadsby went on to make 13 starts and 7 substitute appearances for Stags but the departure of Stuart Watkiss did not help him settle in and he has since been released on a free transfer.

Mansfield  also signed Dion Scott in May 2002, but 6 months later and he moved on to Kidderminster Harriers where he made 19 appearances netting 1 goal.

Harriers boss Ian Britton blamed the decision on finances and said that "Dion did very well for us and I'm sure he'll find another club very quickly, he leaves with our best wishes".

Kidderminster have now released Scott who like Gadsby faces the prospect of finding a club in a increasingly competitive free transfer market.
