Danny Hay was an unused sub in
New Zealand's 1-1 draw with Scotland in Edinburgh last night. It was an
achievement for Hay to make the bench given the ankle injury that kept him
out of the team at the end of last season.

It
is not the first time the Kiwis have appeared in a major international tournament.
They made the confederations cup in 1999 (hosted by Mexico) and appeared
in the 1982 World Cup Finals (held in Spain).
The
Competition was first held in 1992, and Argentina were the first ever
winners. Denmark won it in 1995, Brazil in 1997, while Mexico
shocked Brazil by winning the 1999 tournament.
