Graydon snaps up former Saddler

Former boss Ray Graydon has signed former Walsall forward Clive Platt at Bristol Rovers. Platt could well be partnering Saddlers legend Andy Rammell for the Gas next season.

Saddlers fans may be interested to here that Ray Graydon has signed Clive Platt on a free transfer from Rochdale.

Graydon sold Platt to Rochdale for £100,000 at the start of the 1997-1998 season. Rochdale broke their transfer record to take Platt to Spotland, after he netted 3 times in 5 starts on a loan spell.

He never made the impact that he threatened to at the Bescot, scoring 4 times 32 league appearances between 1995-1999.

Graydon told Bristol Rovers official website that -
"He can cause real damage and he did that in particular against us this season by scoring twice in the league"

Platt becomes the second former Saddlers player that Graydon showed the door at Walsall to be resigned by him at Bristol Rovers.

Graydon will be expected to produce the goods next season, and it will be interesting to see how Rammell and Platt link up.
