A Lyttle to old?

Des Lyttle of West Bromwhich Albion was a Walsall target at the end of last season, and was the Premiership Player which Lee was trying to sign

Lyttle has now been released by West Brom, something that Won't go unnoticed at the Bescot Stadium.

Lee was forced to rest Darren Bazeley at the end of last season, and apart from Darren Wrack the Saddlers are short on full back cover.

The player does seem concerned about finding another club, but told the Express and Star -

"I have played in the Premiership for Forest, Watford and Albion and clocked up nearly 400 games in all and I am still only 31.I'm not as old as some people think!"

Age may be a stumbling block for Lee, who has said he wants to put a younger squad together. Could we afford to have either Bazeley, Lyttle or Aranalde on the bench when funds are so short? Signing Lyttle could allow the Saddlers to utilise the versatility of Bazeley who can also play in central midfield, or out on the right. If Lee wanted to do this, another move for Lyttle would seem logical.
