Danny Hay looks to be winning his race for fitness as he again featured as a sub in the Kiwi's 2-1 defeat against the USA.

The USA have a strong side, who are in a good run of form after beating the Welsh 2-0 just over a week ago.

The USA took the lead on 20 minutes, but the Kiwis grabbed one back just three minutes later.

Blues forward Jovan Kirvoski scored what was the winner mid way through the second half, just before Danny Hay's introduction.

Hay played the last 15 minutes, and a place in the starting line XI is far from certain. He only had 20 minutes against Virginia Beach, and 15 minutes against the USA. The big defender lacks match practice, and the tournament opens on the 18th June for the Kiwis who face Japan.
