Alan Mahon was a Walsall target prior to deadline day 2003, and reports suggest the player is on the verge of being released by Premier League Blackburn Rovers.

Mahon moved to the blue birds, instead of the Saddlers last season, but Cardiff have failed to show any serious interest in the player.
