Colin Lee
signed Emblen on loan in January 2003. His first game was as a sub against
Wolves, a game which the Saddlers lost 1-0. He started the following
game against Reading which ended 0-0, he was back on the bench for the
1-0 win against Brighton, and started the 4-1 defeat against Leicester City.
At the time
it was thought the Canaries would restore him to the side once he was match
fit, but he only made 3 appearances before ending the season as a Saddlers
player thanks to a special dispensation from FA to play him after deadline
day.
His signing
was always on the cards in the Summer of 2003.

Attributes
|
Neil Emblen is extremely versatile,. He
can play at center half, in central midfield, and even featured up front and
out-wide for the Wolves.
We can expect Neil to use all his knowledge
and experience at this level next season while playing at the heart of the
defence, or as the holding man in midfield.
If he can steer clear of injuries and
stay fit then his versatility will prove to be an asset to what will be a
small Walsall squad.
