Merson New Walsall Captain

This one was defniately to be expected - the official club site has announced Paul Merson is the new Captain and released his shirt number.

Paul Merson will be the new Walsall captain, following his signing this morning, the club have announced on www.saddlers.com.

This is hardly a suprise, as he was Portsmouth captain in their promotion season last year.

He has also been allocated the number 10 shirt, which is his favourite number.

The official site are also saying that he may well put in an appearance against Moor Green tonight, along with Vinny Samways.
