Jeff Bonser has begun negotiating a new contract with boss Colin Lee.  Bonser told today's E&S that both he and Lee are keen to bring some stability to the club.

Stability is certainly something they have both brought to the club in the last two years or so. Another two years would allow Lee to continue his transformation of Walsall Football Club, and protect the Saddlers from poachers who would have to pay a hansom fee for our Colin.

Filling Ray Graydons boots was a challenging task, and Lee has managed to surpass what Graydon did at Walsall, and keep us in Division 1. Lee has attracted better players to the Bescot, the kind Ray Graydon or Paul Taylor would only have dreamed of.

Bonser went on to say

"We haven't really spoke about the length of the contract, but Colin's initial contract was for two full seasons and id like to think we could agree a similar length on top of that, so that would give us at least three years including this one"
