Striker Rumours Abound

There are three persistant rumours about strikers at Bescot at the moment, which won't go away. Whether there is any mileage in any is a matter of debate.

Steve-o, the man who broke the news of the Ritchie signing yesterday, has said that Colin Lee has been talking to Ritchies's agent about contacting Keegan about a loan deal for Darren Huckerby. Colin did try to get Huckerby on loan last season, so this might have some milegae, although it's difficult to imaging Manchester City would be that keen on a loan when they would have to pay such a large percentage of his salary. Still, you never know.

The second, the Adi Akinbiyi story, has already been well covered on the site. Although it would make sense for Crystal Palace to pay off some or all of his contract, we know that common sense doesn't always apply in football!

The last is a "I heard that someone said" type story. Someone posted on UTS that they heard on the TV that Manchester United were going to loan out one of their players to us. Another poster, presumably putting two and two together, decided that this must be former Wolves youngster, Daniel Nardiello. He has appeared for Man Utd in the Champion's League (against Maccaibi Tel Aviv) and is a 5' 11" striker, son of a former Coventry player.

Next week's developments look like being interesting as the striker stories will get more frenzied!
