Reserves and Hotels

While the reserves went one better than the first team, making it two wins out of two, the Bescot Hotel got the go ahead from the Planning Committee.

The reserves made it two wins out of two yesterday, with a 2 - 1 win away at Burnley.

Both sides were a similar mixture of youth and experience, but the Saddlers cam out on top with goals from Karl Hawley and Nick Smith.

The only down side was an injury to Stefan Oakes, the natural replacement for Vinny Samways when he's suspended, who received a kick in the ribs and had to come off. The club still do not know the prognosis.

Walsall team: - Kerr, Willetts, K. Taylor, Oakes (Jameson), Caines, Bennett, Wrack, Smith, Birch (Atieno), Fryatt (D. Taylor), Hawley. Subs not used: Dann, Coleman.

The club have also announced that they have been granted planning permission for the 100 bedroomed hotel on the Bescot site, something which should again increase the revenue streams available to the club.
