Is 26 year old Alan Quinn the man Colin Lee is chasing? He has a good pedigree and has performed in the Premiership.
The Express and Star has suggested that Wayne Quinn of Newcastle United could be the man Colin Lee is eyeing as competition for Zigor Aranalde.
Although Lee has refused to reveal who is trying to sign, the local paper seems pretty sure that he is the man.
Quinn started his career at Sheffield United where he made over 100 league appearances, and won U21 honours with England.
Newcastle paid Sheffield United £800,000 for his services half way through the 2000/2001 season. He became a first team regular at St James Park, and looked well equipped for Premiership Football. 01/02 wasn't as good for Quinn, who only managed 8 appearances for Toon, none of which came in the Premiership.
Last season saw him return to the Blades on loan, where he spent two months playing in Neil Warnocks promotion chasing side. He spent January and February at Bramhall Lane, featuring in their 2-0 cup win over us.
His contract is up in the summer, and with him failing to make any Premiership appearances last, or this season his time at St James's park seems to be up.
