Is Adi Akinbiyi going to sign? Jorge is feeling lonely, but is greatful for Mersons help. Is this going to be another missed opportunity.

Colin Lee fears we may lose out on yet another player. As the competition for Adi Akinbiyi's signature hots up. The player has secured a pay off from Crystal Palace.

Adi has played for both Gillingham and Stoke in the past, while Colin Lee was his manager at the Wolves. All 3 clubs will be confident of securing his signature, but when it comes to finances we may not be able to compete with the Gills and Stoke. There is a bit of bad blood between Gillingham, Stoke and Walsall. We snatched  Osborn from under Gillingham's nose, while Stoke did the same to us for Paul Williams. While Tony Pullis used to manage Gillingham, where he is now an unpopular figure.

We desperately need another forward, and Jeff Bonser has agreed to fund a deal. Leitao is struggling on his own, but has been quick to praise Paul Merson.

"It means I get to see plenty of the ball and it's better than playing hopeful balls out of defence. It can be difficult up there on my own. Sometimes I need support and Merse has helped in that respect."

Merson does not see himself as a striker. He told everyone this after the Northampton game. Although he is obviously happy to help out at the moment, we cannot expect him to play this role all season.

We have also been linked with a move for Peter Crouch from Aston Villa. We will bring all the latest transfer news as and when it breaks. Keep watching.
