International News - Corica on duty

We promised you news of the Australia - Jamaica game, but Steve Corica watched the game from the bench and failed to make an appearance for the Socceroos.

It is still 2 years since Corica played for Ozzies, his last game was in August 2001 when the Socceroos lost 3-0 to the Japanese.

His good early season form must have played a part in his call up. If he can get a good run in our first team and continue to re-produce his good form then we can expect more call ups for the our little play maker.

Coach Frank Farina fielded a strong Ozzie side that included Mark Viduka, Harry Kewell and a host of other British based Australians. The game was played at the Madjeski Stadiums, as Australia, like many other teams are beginning to play home matches in Europe so they can field their strongest sides in international competition. The final score was 2-1 to Australia.

Jamie Lawrence did not play for the Reggae Boyz, but is expected to play some kind of role against he Rams this weekend. Stefan Oakes is also in line for his first start because Samways is suspended.
