Vinny Samways has been fined £1000 and banned for two games after referee Paul Taylor reported the midfielder to the FA for using foul and abusive language.
The 34 year old was sent off during Walsall’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City last month and was banned for our 0-1 home defeat to Derby. However, the former Spurs and Everton star – a key figure at Bescot – refused to go quietly and has been punished further.
"It is a big blow for us but we have no option but to accept the decision." said boss Colin Lee, who has now seen three of his players red carded in just nine matches this season.
Samways will now miss the difficult away trips to Sunderland and Watford next month whilst defender Paul Ritchie will also receive a ban after his red card against Millwall on Saturday.
