Paul Ritchie has been speaking to the Birmingham Mail about his expectations for this season.....

"Our players are too good to be fighting a relegation battle. We have to be looking at the middle of the league or maybe even a push for the play-offs.

"Not many squads in this division have got more quality and Gary O'Neil and Chris Baird have given us the energy we were missing. If the gaffer can improve the squad again who knows where we might end up?"

It is hard to see which part of the table we belong in at the moment. But if the players have this kind of confidence, and know they belong outside the relegation zone then we can all be hopeful of a comfortable season.

The FA are still investigating THAT incident from the tunnel after the Milwall game, but Ritchie will miss the Burnley game through suspension.

Is Ritchie being realistic, or is it a sign of complacency....let us know on the forum !
