Saddlers lose race for Gunners star

The Saddlers have lost out in the race to sign Arsenal striker Seb Svard.

Colin Lee has spoken about the promising Arsenal star...

"I was out in Denmark to watch Herfoelge who we have a link with. But Svard really stood out. I've been in regular touch with Arsenal since but in the last week or two a couple of other First Division clubs became involved. Quite simply, we can't afford to pay him what Stoke are offering. It's hard to take because a player who I'm sure would have added a lot to our squad will be doing it for one of our rivals instead"

Svard was on loan to FC Copenhagen at the time, but looks set to sign relegation fighting Stoke City instead.
