Herfølge link man quiting

TheSaddlersFC has been informed that Clive Stapleton, the man behind the Walsall and Herfølge link up is leaving the Danish club.

Stapleton was the majority shareholder in the Danish outfit, but his future has been uncertain since November. We have already reported on how he nearly left the club back in November amidst a power struggle between him and Carl Christensen. Christensen went on to leave the club, but the seeds of discontent were there.

Stapleton is now set to quit the club and handed over his shares to fellow Englishman Phil Matts. Rumour has it that Stapleton is looking to invest in Herfølge's biggest rivals - Koege.

Will this have an impact on our agreement with the Danes? Who knows. But the man who helped set it up is on his way out of the club.
