As had been rumoured at the weekend on the message boards, Colin Lee is interested in appointing Paul Bracewell as his new assistant.

The news on the appointment of a new assistant manager had gone quiet for some time and there were rumours circulating that Paul Merson may be taking the role after this summer.

Last weekend, however, the Sunday Mercury mentioned, for the first time, the name of former Fulham Manager and Kevin Keegan Assistant, Paul Bracewell.

The former Newcasdtle midfielder's name has now been confirmed by Colin Lee, who says that Bracewell is eager to come to the club and it is just a matter of sorting out finances with owner Jeff Bonsor. If enough room can be found within the budget, the appointment would be until the end of this season.
