The latest rumour sweeping across the message boards is that we have, or are about to sign, Manchester United's Kieran Richardson.

The latest rumour sweeping across the message boards is that we have, or are about to sign, Manchester United's reserve left winger Kieran Richardson.

The ruomour was reported to us by one of our posters, the Fat Controller, but has also independantly appeared on the UTS message board.
There is no indication whether this is a loan or a permanent move.

Richardson would be a player to interest Colin Lee, as it is fairly well documented that he tried to loan the player last season.

One of the United unofficial sites, www.manutdonline.org, describes Richardson like this:-

"There's been a few new Ryan Giggs' arrive on the scene at United but this youngster seems to have something special in his favour - the belief of Sir Alex Ferguson.

A London-born midfielder who was handed a squad number by Manchester United for the 2002/03 season - at the age of 17.

Richardson is described as an all-round midfield gem, but one who possesses that rare gift - a left foot. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the player as one of the best players to come through the club's Academy in recent years.

He played a full part in United's pre-season in 2002 and made an impressive cameo against Boca Juniors in a Unicef charity match.

Led the England Under-16 side to the Milk Cup final back in 2001, where they lost out to Paraguay, and was named Player of the Tournament at the European Youth Cup.

Started his career with his local side, West Ham United, before being snapped up by the Old Trafford club.

Made his United debut as a late substitute in the 3-2 win at Olympiakos in the Champions League in October 2002.

Scored his first ever goal on his next appearance when replacing Daniel Nardiello in the Worthington Cup win over Leicester City".
