Colin Lee, in an interview in today's Evening Mail, is suggesting that Stefan Oakes' move was to free up funds to bring in another player.

Colin Lee said about Stefan Oakes' move to Notts County:-

"It was a very difficult decision. Stefan's technically a very gifted player, but he has been on the fringe of things, more a squad player.

And, with the money we will save by Notts County taking over his contract and us not paying him until June, that frees up some funds for a player who I can bring straight into the first team."

It would appear that moves are on the cards this week, with some pace and more youthful legs in midfield one possible priority, along with (possibly) cover for Roper, out for three weeks. Certainly, Lee has made no secret of the fact he would like Gary O'Neill back, as well as making moves for Manchester United starlet Kieran Richardson.
