Redknapp - Merson was hard work....

Harry Redknapp has told ITV Sport just why he let Paul Merson leave Pompey in the Summer.

Redknapp said....

"Paul was different class for us last season. But he took a lot of looking after"

"I didn't mind the extra work of keeping him on the level for one year but I don't think I could have done two."

Most fans had always thought his exit was down to the fact that Merse wanted to be closer to home; but it now appears that Redknapp was just as keen to usher him out of the door, and after recent events we can see just what he means.

Redknapp also mentions he worked hard keeping him on the level. Is that where Colin Lee has failed this season?
