VINNY SAMWAYS SUSPENDED

The club have announced that they have suspended Vinny Samways without pay, following his failure to return to Walsall either for training, or for a medical examination.

This is hardly surprising news, as it seems that Colin Lee has been arranging cover for the errant midfielder with the loan signing of Keith Andrews and the signing of Craig Burley until the end of the season.

The Spanish based anchor man hasn't been back to the club since March 6th, but says he has been suffering from the flu.

Despite being asked to return for a club medical he has failed to respond; now the club have said he in breach of his contract, and have suspended him without pay.

It is a well known fact that Vinny does not like commuting from Spain. He failed to return from Spain just after the new year, but that situation was resolved. Now the whole situation seems to have flared up yet again.

Colin Lee has spoken about the situation in todays Express and Star...

"There has been no explanation, apart from a call saying he was not well enough to travel,"

"If he is genuinely ill we want evidence and to be able to assess it ourselves,"

Lee also went on to say that situation was unacceptable, and that both he and Jeff Bonser stand together on this issue. The general tone from Lee's comments were that Samways is out of order for failing to keep in contact.

Most fans forgave Samways after his last mini strike. He might not be so lucky this time.
