Win at all costs - Gills Preview

This is the biggest game of the season for both teams. Both sides need 3 points to pull away from the relegation places.

WALSALL MUST DELIVER
A disappointing home performance must be rectified in this crunch tie between two teams in danger of dropping out of the division.  Three places and two points separate the teams. Walsall think 1 more victory has them safe. The Gills need a victory to help them pull clear of their relegation rivals.  
 

TEAM NEWS

Walsall - Darren Wrack is still injured and will not feature. Vinny Samways will not be joining the squad, he still has his feet up in Spain. Paul Ritchie serves the 2nd game of a two match ban.. It is unlikely that Lee will change the line up that won at Derby. Ian Roper picked up and injury on Saturday. He is unlikely to figure.

Gillingham - Paul Smith is expected to miss out through injury. Ashby and Hills are believed to have made good progress and are available for selection.  Will Gary Wales stick to his agreement with Colin Lee and not play against the Saddlers. ?

STAR MEN
Walsall - Jimmy Walker is always on hand to put in a match winning performance. Jimmy is worth his weight in gold to the Saddlers. Mr Consistent has been in this situation before, and knows how to handle the pressure. When push comes to shove, Jimmy will produce the goods. 

Gillingham - The Gills paid £150,000 to take Patrick Agyemang away from Wimbledon, where had managed 7 goals in a struggling team before Christmas.  He has been with the Gills since early January and scored 3 goals in 15 starts. His pace and power could cause the Walsall defence problems. 

THE SCORE?
Both sides had disappointing results on Saturday.  Who we are playing a Gillingham team who haven't won in eight games, with the last 7 ending in defeat. Don't be deceived by this run. The Gills have played - West Brom, Wigan, Cardiff, West Ham and Sunderland - all of whom have promotion aspirations.

Walsall are producing their best form away from the Bescot. Wins against PNE and Derby, not forgetting that goalless draw at Upton Park will have boosted confidence. Gillingham aren't the most prolific goal scorers around, so if the Saddlers can find their shooting boots - they could well get a result.

Colin Lee thinks Walsalls' players were to tense on Saturday. Lets hope they get their act together. A defeat on Monday and the pressure will build.
